Freedom Fest, a Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored event, is going to look a little different this year was we focus efforts on keeping our community safe and healthy.
The Chamber has had to make some difficult decisions this year that we acknowledge not everyone will agree with. As an organization, these decisions were made in light of our responsibility to ensure the safety and health of the community at Chamber sponsored events. As such, Freedom Fest activities that would normally take place at the Pine County Fairgrounds have been cancelled, including the annual firework display.
Despite these changes, the Chamber will continue to celebrate Freedom Fest with some new activities such as a Classic Car Cruise throughout neighborhoods, Residential Decorating Contest for homeowners to show off their patriotic spirit, Kids Coloring Contest for preschool – age 12, #ShopLocal Bingo activity to promote and support our local businesses, and other activities with our community partners — including the Medallion Hunt made possible by WCMP Radio. We know that this is a well-loved tradition in the Pine City area. It was a difficult decision to cancel some of the activities, but we look forward to celebrating together as a community with scheduled activities this year, and as a full event in 2021.
