At the most recent monthly meeting for the Pine Area Lions, one of the members shared an interesting recycling opportunity with the membership. Through a partnership with Trex, the Pine Area Lions have signed on to collect 500 pounds of plastic bags in a 6 month period.
When you donate your unwanted plastic materials to Trex, not only are you helping to keep thousands of pounds of waste out of landfills, you’re also helping the company to continue to create beautiful and environmentally responsible outdoor products. When the Pine Area Lions reach the 500 pound goal by May 1st, Trex will donate a bench to the community.
In order to meet this goal, the Pine Area Lions will be looking for help from the community. View the list of what bags can be recycled and begin collecting them now. Chris’ Food Center (1035 Main Street S, Pine City) is serving as the collection center for this particular goal, so bags can be brought to this location 7 days a week.
