Organized annually by volunteers with the Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce, the Pine County Fair Parade event is one of the many highlights to the summer season here in Pine City. The work begins in early spring when the planning team starts looking for performance groups like the St. Paul Bouncing Team and other marching or performing musical groups that would be a good fit for parade participation.
“Every year our team makes an effort to find a new performer or two as well as bring back some of our favorites,” said Gretchen Blaufuss, chairperson for this year’s committee. “And we are always looking for more marching bands!”
This year’s parade will take place on Saturday, August 2nd at 4:00 PM.
Registration for businesses, community groups, fire departments and area ambassador programs is now open on the Chamber website at www.pinecitychamber.com/pine-county-parade. The Chamber has launched a new registration portal this year for all parade units. “The biggest change from past years is that the new online system will require payments to be made at the time of your registration,” shared Becky Schueller, Executive Director for the Chamber. “An option to pay by cash or check is still available, it simply must be done in person or by mail and a with a printed form.”
