Nearly half of all bird species in North America are seriously threatened by climate change and in Minnesota we have 166 climate threatened or climate endangered species. In Minnesota climate endangered birds include the golden eagle, American three-toed woodpecker, black-throated blue warbler, yellow-headed blackbird and many others.
Urban Bird Collective founder and Executive Director & Saint Paul Bird Alliance board member Monica Bryand worked on a special project through National and Minnesota Audubon to capture through photos these 166 species. It is a work in progress but she currently has over 158 and will share her photos and some of her stories of her travels along with why she is so passionate about working to protect the environment for people and the birds. She will also share many of the birding hotspots around MN.
Monica is a Latina birder/photographer that focuses on mainly urban birds but manages to travel up north and across the state to find special feathered friends.
