May Gallery Exhibit features Kanabec County Art Association

Throughout the month of May, Pine Center for the Arts proudly hosts “Art for Art’s Sake,” an inspiring group exhibition featuring the creative works of over 20 artists from the Kanabec County Art Association (KCAA).

Based in Mora, KCAA is one of the oldest rural arts organizations in Minnesota, with a history stretching back over 60 years. The group meets weekly, offering a welcoming and supportive space where members share their current projects, exchange ideas, and challenge one another to try new creative directions.

“Art for Art’s Sake” celebrates art in its purest form—created for the joy of self-expression and the love of the creative process. Visitors can expect a vibrant mix of mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, and jewelry, along with unique works in fabric, metal, paper, found materials—and even culinary arts, reflecting the group’s passion for all things creative.

“Many people join us saying they’re not artists,” says a longtime KCAA member, “but they quickly discover that creativity lives in everyone. Art can take many forms—and all are welcome.”

With such a wide array of artistic styles and media, the exhibit promises something for every viewer to enjoy. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the work of local artists and experience the rich creative spirit of east central Minnesota.

There will be an opening night reception on Friday, May 2nd. The exhibition will remain on display throughout May. Regular gallery hours are 10 am-5 pm, Thursday-Saturday and Sunday 11 am-5 pm.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through an operating grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council, thanks to legislative appropriations from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund. This event is sponsored by Stearns Bank.
