The Pine City Heritage Players have announced their first event for the 2024 season and invite the community to attend “Songs of the Stage” on Saturday, February 10th at 7:00 PM. The annual scholarship fundraiser event has limited seating for just 100 attendees, and tickets are going fast!
With a variety of soloists, duets and small groups, the Songs of the Stage experience highlights some of the talented musicians that Pine City and the surrounding communities have to offer. The showcase invites each artist to select their own song choice and work with the production team to create a final set list that brings together a variety of styles and songs into one event.
Returning performers like Nic Sabatke and Cassandra Olson are exploring some new songs and new instruments. “This year I started learning to play the mandolin,” said Olson at the first rehearsal night. “Be gentle, it’s a work in progress.”
Also included in the performance line-up this year are Allie Gosen and Ashley Peters. While they aren’t singing together, they are both scholarship recipients of the Harvey Lindstrom Memorial Scholarship. “Songs of the Stage has been our annual fundraiser event to raise money for scholarships for students in the area,” says Board President Dawn Carpenter. “Having Allie and Ashley performing with us again this year is a great reminder of the purpose of the fundraiser and the scholarship.”
