Three years ago the Pine City Athletic Committee was created as a way to help support improvements in the facilities for student athletes of Pine City Schools. Through this dedicated group of volunteers there has been a special event held annually to help raise money for a variety of improvements. In 2022, the first fundraiser helped to update the high school weight room facility. In 2023, the funds helped to purchase a divider for use in the high school gym to help split the space into two usable classroom or practice spaces. This year the goals for facility improvements include a new pitching mound for the baseball field and two additional throwing areas for the track team as well as additional weight room equipment.
The community is invited to attend this year’s fundraiser on Saturday, July 13th beginning at 3PM at the Pine County Fairgrounds Event Center.
