From backyard chickens to an industry-changing egg farm

East Central Regional Library is excited to present an author visit featuring Lucie Amundsen, an award-winner for her book, Locally Laid, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at the Pine City Public Library.

Amundsen is a writer, marketer, community volunteer, and reluctant farmer who co-owns Locally Laid Egg Company, a Minnesota farm that aims to change the way eggs are produced in America. Her book, Locally Laid, a 2016 Midwest Booksellers Choice Award winner, is a humorous telling of how a Midwestern family with no agriculture experience went from a few backyard chickens to a plucky, industry-changing egg farm.

A former contributor to the Minneapolis Star Tribune and former editor at Reader’s Digest Association, Amundsen has written for many publications during her freelance career. She lives with her husband and two children in Duluth, Minnesota.

All ages are welcome to this author visit, and no registration is necessary.

This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
