Creatures & Characters Appearing at Pine Center for the Arts

Many of us are fascinated by nature. We feel awe when we walk out into the open sky; calm as we trek through a living forest. Nature gives us a magical truth through its cycle. Seasons bring challenges and tragedy. Creatures and foliage die. We must accept and embrace this because it cannot be controlled. The world is continually telling us these truths. There is rebirth and regeneration through this death – a growth through what disintegrates around us. This exposed vulnerability brings beauty, if we are open to it.

Jennifer Scammahorn says “This is my Curiosity. I create images to hopefully understand this process of nature. I mix acrylic stains with the painted details. I challenge myself to let my tools and medium run their own course”.

Donna Buszynski is a painter inspired by everyday people. Her Paintings transform someone she finds interesting into a unique funky vibrant character.

Donna uses Acrylics and often uses torn paper for texture. “Recently, I have incorporated cut-out birch wood to achieve a new exciting visual depth to invite the viewer to experience the character in a different form” She says.
