The local chapter of Blue Star Moms will be collecting items for Holiday Care packages. These items will be mailed to the men and women currently deployed on active military duty. The group is seeking donations from interested community members from the items request list below or cash donations to help pay for shipping cost would also be welcome.
We are also seeking more addresses – if you know of a deployed service member or have a family member that is currently active or in need of a care package please let us know. Packaging day is scheduled for November 18th at the Braham Event Center.
Blue Star Moms of Pine City Chapter #16 serves all of East Central Minnesota and western Wisconsin- we are always accepting new members (mothers – grandmothers – stepmothers) and Associate members (family members – dads and friends) to join us!
Drop off boxes for donations can be found at these locations through November 15th:

- Foot powder
- Mouse traps
- Protein bars/breakfast bars/granola bars
- Beef jerky / beef sticks
- Gum
- Hard candies
- Nuts
- Flavored packets for water bottles
- Soup – like ramen (in Cups) & Dinty Moore(easy open cans)
- Instant coffee
- Dryer sheets
- Coffee creamer (powdered)
- Instant oatmeal
- Toiletries
- Feminine hygiene products
- Letters and/or cards to soldiers
- Canned or packaged meats (tuna, pepperoni)
- Plain white tube socks
Items for them to give to kids that line the streets when our soldiers drive by: crayons, markers, colored chalk, paper
Please note that the soldiers emphasize:
- NO CHOCOLATE-it melts before they get it (summer)
- Nothing that would melt in shipping
- Liquid in plastic cups (ie: Fruit cups)
- Gelcaps don’t ship well
