Pine City Farmers’ Market will launch the Power of Produce Club (PoP Club) for the 2024 season beginning on Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6, at the Farmers’ Market at the Pine County Fairgrounds.
Last year was the first year of the PoP Club in Pine City; it was wildly successful with over 150 children signing up to participate in this free program through the Farmers’ Market season.
Each child participating in the program will receive $2 PoP-bucks to be spent (by kids) on fresh produce. Kids will receive their bucks once per market. They can choose to spend it on their own $2 selection of fresh, locally grown produce, or save their bucks for a future market. Kids also receive a reward token each visit.
The goal of the PoP Club is to empower children to make healthy choices when selecting food to eat while learning about how food is grown and connecting them with local farmers.
Beginning July 5 and running through September 7, children ages 4 through 12 are welcome to join the PoP Club. Registration and check-in will be located at the Market Manager’s table during market hours of 11 AM to 1 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Questions about the program can be sent to [email protected].
Come be part of the fun!
