Want to learn the best time to harvest your vegetables for their greatest nutrient value and what you can do with them? Come to the Summer Gardening Workshop on Monday, August 19th at 6 p.m. at the Pine City Community Garden at 10 S. E. 3rd St. in Pine City.
Pine County Master Gardener Kara Nelson will show you how to determine when vegetables are at their peak to pick to eat or preserve. Jimmie Johnson, UMN Extension Pine County SNAP Educator will discuss the nutrition of vegetables and have recipes on different ways to use fresh produce.
The workshop is free and open to the public. The garden is located from the Pine City downtown stoplight two blocks east over the railroad tracks to the Village Bar, then north three blocks on 3rd St.
