The Pine County Parade is making its comeback this Saturday, August 7th with the kick-off happening at 4:00 PM. There are currently 83 units registered for the parade and a we are excited to welcome back a few returning favorites plus a few new additions to our performance groups!
The Pine County Fair Board annual sponsorship of the T-6 Flight Team will kick off the event at 4PM. The arrival of the airplanes above Robinson Park is the moment that our parade begins Downtown. The St. Paul Bouncing Team will return this year thanks to the generous contribution made by the Rock Creek Lions. The Zuhrah Shrine Band under the yellow canopy will also be back this year. We’ve invited sports and school mascots in the past to participate and this year we will have TWO mascots appearing — look for CRUNCH and GOLDIE during the parade with lots of music and fun along with them.
Reminders for spectators:
- Please DO NOT put chairs out to reserve spots for viewing until Saturday morning, and when doing so we ask that you avoid blocking access to businesses that are trying to operate. Chairs should not obstruct sidewalks in any way or provide a tripping hazard for accessing the sidewalk. (Please don’t tie chairs together with rope)
- There is no parking along the designated parade route on the streets. We begin checking this as early as 2PM to ensure that the streets will be clear for our performance units. If vehicle owners can not be located to move a vehicle, they will be towed at owner’s expense.
- The streets will begin closing at 3:45 PM. Please check the map to plan for alternative routes if you need to travel through Pine City between 3:45PM and 6:00PM.
- Public Parking space is available at the NW parking lot at Pine Technical & Community College, Pine City Elementary School, South Pine Government Center (City Hall), and Voyageur Bottle Shop.
