National Night out, recognized each year on the first Tuesday of August, will be taking place in Robinson Park on Tuesday, August 6th this year.
Volunteers from the city, chamber, and local businesses pulled together the first NNO event in Pine City in 2012. It started with a fire truck, ambulance, police car, a little popcorn and an outdoor movie.
“The event is about including anyone who wants to join the fun,” says Becky Schueller, Executive Director for the Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce. “When an organization calls me up and says they want to participate, we get excited to see the event grow just a little bit more each year.”
There will be family friendly activities in the park from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. The line-up of participating groups currently includes:
- Pine City Beach Lifeguards – Rootbeer Floats & Games
- The Dragon Wagon
- Children of Joy Preschool
- Pine Center for the Arts – Art Activities
- Heritage Players Community Theater – Dress Up Photo Booth
- Pine Technical & Community College – Yard Games
- Pine City Youth Hockey – Popcorn!
- Pine County Sheriff’s Department
