The next monthly meeting for the Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4th at Noon. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at the South Pine Government Center, 315 Main Street South. Meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
This month the Chamber welcomes Joe Mulford, Pine Technical and Community College President, as our guest and presenter for the meeting.
All interested guests are invited to attend and learn more about the exciting things happening at PTCC, including a $2.2 million renovation project, and a bonding request recently supported by Governor Walz.
On January 13th Governor Tim Walz released his higher education bonding proposal for the 2020 legislative session that includes $263.7 million for Minnesota State. His recommendation consists of $142.5 million for asset preservation and $121.2 million for capital bonding projects at the colleges and universities. Walz’s proposal fully funds every bonding project in the system’s request. The proposal includes Pine Technical and Community College’s request of $1.6 million for asset preservation and $635,000 in design funds for a near future expansion of campus technical/trade labs.
“We are appreciative that Governor Walz has supported the vision of Pine Technical and Community College,” said PTCC President Joe Mulford. “Our ability to secure bonding funds that supports the expansion and remodel of our technical and trades labs will literally set the foundation for our continued growth and expanding programming in our region,” Mulford added.
