Pine Technical & Community College will host a Contractor’s Seminar for Continuing Education Training credits on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 7:30am – 4:30pm in the Pine Innovation Center.
This interactive seminar is divided into three sessions. Part I will take an in-depth view of residential code requirements and best practices for stairways, landings, guards, handrails, etc. Illustrations will represent everyday problems and serve as the basis for discussion and resolution to the problems of the means of egress for dwellings. Part II will take a look at the use of alternate methods and materials and how jurisdictions document related code requirements. Attendees will be able to identify references required for alternate methods, determine acceptable testing materials, and compliance with the intent of the
code. Part III will wrap up the day with 1 hour of the MN Residential Energy Code. Participation in discussions and Q & A is encouraged through the use of photographs of real-life installations, both correct and incorrect.
