Required Skills: Education:


*Bachelor's degree required in education, social sciences, humanities, or related area from a


regionally accredited college/university.


Type and Length of Experience:


*Minimum of five years' experience with student services in higher education or related field.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


*Knowledge of a regional approach to building and delivering higher education


*Knowledge of instructional and student support methodologies


*Knowledge of diverse student populations and the related issues, needs, and opportunities


*Knowledge of effective classroom instruction, learning, and curriculum methodologies.


*Knowledge of assessment of varied systems that promote learning and exceptional customer




*Knowledge of accreditation processes, including assessment.


*Skill in demonstrating sensitivity to all facets of the college community.


*Skills in written, oral, and non-verbal communication.


*Skills for problem solving to manage diverse and complex situations.


*Skill in the management of participatory decision-making.


*Ability to establish and maintain productive, collegial, and professional working relationships with


both internal and external constituents of the college.


*Ability to effectively lead, supervise, evaluate, motivate, and develop professional employees and

*Master's degree in education or related area from a regionally accredited college/university.


Type and Length of Experience:


*Seven years' experience in student services and student life areas in a higher education


environment or related field. Demonstrated leadership experience in a vocational/ technical or


community college.


Job Description: The Director of Student Success provides strategic leadership, direction, and supervision of student


success functions including but not limited to retention strategies, continuing student advising,


services for special populations such as veterans, student life, and career services at Pine


Community and Technical College. The Director of Student Success also is responsible for


overseeing all concurrent enrollment activities, including programming and conversion, and obtaining


and maintaining NACEP accreditation within the prescribed timeframe. The incumbent prioritizes


work to ensure students and staff are the focus for division success, and these efforts are measured


for continuous improvement. Supervises, collaborates, and implements special projects for the


college as well as develops and implements a positive public image for the institution and employees


with local, regional, state, and national contacts.
