Pine City ‘Art in the Park’ kicks off Friday

The Pine City Arts Council will kick off the summer season of Art in the Park this Friday, May 28th with a special concert in memory of Cindy Novy, Pine City business owner and founding member of the Pine City Arts Council. Novy was part of the group as it formed in 1977 with a mission to provide art forms – both visual and performing arts – to our rural Minnesota community. Over 40 years later, the Art in the Park music series has become a foundation of the summer for the Pine City area. When the kick off begins…. you know summer has arrived!

This Friday, the Pine City Arts Council will host the “Holy Hootenanners” in Robinson Park with music beginning at 6:30 PM. This year the group has decided not to serve meals in the park on Fridays, instead encourages guests to pick up a meal from one of the local restaurants.

There will be 9 weeks of great music in Downtown Pine City thanks to generous sponsors, see the list below. Arrowhead Transit will also be offering FREE rides for anyone within the dial-a-ride service area, call 1-800-862-0175 option 6 to schedule your ride.
