The Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce has begun meeting with Partner Groups that will lead events for the 2018 Freedom Fest weekend. This annual event is a collaboration of the various community groups to create one enjoyable, family friendly weekend of activities. Recently, the Chamber mailed letters to businesses & organizations that have sponsored the Freedom Fest Fireworks in previous years. New sponsors are always welcome to join this event. At this time, we are actively seeking new sponsors to join us this year in funding the annual fireworks display. Through dedicated sponsorship contributions in each of the last two planning years, our fireworks display was fully funded by May 1, and we were able to provide greater marketing of the event.
Over the last two years, Freedom Fest expenditures reached nearly $10,000 each year. The largest expense being the $6,000 cost for fireworks. Additional expenses that will be incurred this year: $500 money scramble for kids, $700 banner production & hanging fees, plus our marketing and supplies for various events. Our goal is to raise those funds, or pledged commitments before April 1st.
Seeking New Event Ideas & Host Organizations
As a family friendly event, we want to provide activities for all age groups from the youngest to the oldest. Our planning team has a variety of event ideas in mind…. but need community groups to join the efforts to implement and host the activities.
