On Tuesday, October 1st the monthly Chamber Meeting was held at Noon in the Pine Government Center in Downtown Pine City. Here are just a few highlights from this month’s meeting.
- Eric Wicktor with Pine City Public Schools presented information on a new Job Shadow Program that he and colleague, Sara Roubinek, are in the process of developing. “The goal for our students is to come away with a better understanding for their field of interest and the skills needed to be successful in that field.” The team is currently seeking interested business hosts for the program. - The Pine City Chamber welcomed three new members during the month of September: Silver Creek Senior Communities, America’s Best Value Inn (Hinckley), and Changing Gaits. This brings our total membership to 215 members.
- The Citizen of the Year committee announced the 2019 selection: Lyndon Hagestuen. A reception in his honor is planned for this Sunday, October 6th from 3:00 – 4:30 PM.
- The Annual Banquet planning team has selected the date for this year’s event: Tuesday, October 29th. Our theme this year is “Time Machine”. As the Chamber celebrates 50 years serving the community this month, we want to highlight each of our members – where they began and milestones for their business. To accomplish this, members are asked to complete a short survey by October 18th.
