Pine City Ambassador Program Returns for 2021

The Pine City Ambassador Program is back for a revamped program for this summer. Earlier today the applications were released to the Pine City Ambassador page on the Chamber website for both the Senior & Junior Ambassador program. All applications are due by Friday, July 16th.

As the COVID-19 restrictions were loosening and programs began relaunching around the state, the Pine City Ambassador Program started plans for the summer season but wasn’t able to launch due to the departure of several long-time committee members over the last three years. “We are grateful to team members like Mary Ellen Sauser, Dihanna Fedder, Sheila Hughes, Kris Pederson, Darcey Stransky and Krista Martin for the leadership and experience they have provided over the years. The loss of these valuable committee members required us to delay the start of the program and begin recruitment efforts for a new committee,” said Becky Schueller, Executive Director for the Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce.

We are excited to announce a return of the program with several key changes for this year’s candidate program.

  1. We are limiting the number of candidates in the Senior & Junior program, due in part to allowing for two grade levels to be eligible to complete this year only.
  2. Each candidate will be asked to secure a single sponsorship for the duration of the candidate program. Businesses that are not able to sponsor a candidate, but would like to contribute to the scholarship can contact Becky at 320-322-4040 for details.
  3. We are planning for several activities over the course of the next 6 weeks instead of a full week of activities for the candidates.
  4. Coronation for the the new 2021 Ambassadors will take place on Sunday, August 22nd. Location is pending.
